Hello

Hello. My name is Jim Baldwin. I am the founder of Javabus. I love to ease the stress of using technology for the non-technical. I am a avid Mac Fan but have background in the Windows world since Windows 3.11 (I still on a copy on a IBM desktop. When I'm officially off-work, I love photography, writing, and playing my Tut Taylor guitar. Thanks for visiting my website. You can read more about the company here.

I started Javabus a few years ago but have been working in the technology and office arena since the early 1990's. I worked as the Facility Manager for Steelcase, a Fortune 500 furniture manufacturer. Back then, we laid miles of fiber and CAT5 cabling under sub-floors to machines running DOS and PROFS. We booted our ProWrite Word Processing with 5 1/4 Floppies. By 1994, we replaced seas of mainframes in our 1200 sq. halon protected room with just two IBM servers. I have support networks for large software development companies and educational and non-profit institutions.

Javabus started from the growing technical dependency used by small businesses and the home office. The small business and home office are growing in complexity each year. Offices are now more dependent on high-speed connections, stable operating systems, reliable backup strategies, software integrations, VPN's...and the list goes on and on. But the I.T market has yet to catch up. Owners of small business and home offices are often support by either large I.T. companies charging corperate prices to handle simple issues or department store "geeks" that send out part-time summer help. Hardware purchase are made from membership clubs or Super Stores. Now, all of these solutions work to point.

Our customers have found that they have grown past the listed solutions above. It no longer is cost effective to loose a hard drive full of data to someone behind a counter.  It no longer works to have a critical machine down because a technician fixed one problem only to cause another the next day when he or she wasn't around. It no longer cost effective to invest in smart-phones, mobile bandwidth devices, laptops running the latest O.S. when none of the devices can communicate to the local network or each other. Or to purchase new equipment only to find out that the specifications limit the software solutions needed to run your business. Javabus helps you find the right solutions for you (not the right solution because it happens to be in stock). We are not tied to any vendors or brand, so we are not limited to any one set of hardware and software. In fact, we will help you find the right technology for your needs and budget. Plus we live this stuff everyday. We will treat your business like we treat ours...with respect and care.

Give us a call.
